Definition: smart backpack

A backpack designed for the technology age. Smart backpacks typically have pass-throughs that allow cable access to all pockets. They generally have at least one RFID anti-theft pocket and one cushioned pocket for a laptop or tablet. Backpacks may have security straps to prevent thieves from opening the backpack from behind, a common occurrence in many tourist destinations. The unit may have a water-resistant bottom, and it generally has a handle pass-through so it fits tightly on top of rolling luggage. See smart.
